The purpose of the United Methodist Women is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand the concept of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

There are approximately 69 members of the United Methodist Women of Port Washington. The unit meetings are held at noon in the Youth Lounge at the church. The four meetings are a Day Apart, Call to Prayer and Self-Denial, a Christmas event and UMW Sunday in the spring.

Our unit consists of two circles: The Afternoon Circle meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 12:30PM and the Evening Circle meets on the third Monday of the month. Dinner meetings at selected restaurants begin at 5:30PM, otherwise at 7:30PM.

Opportunities for leadership training are provided at the District and Conference levels. We encourage all members to participate in meetings and retreats sponsored by the District.

As women in mission we have been supportive of Women’s Advocacy Ministry, RotoCare, Interfaith Nutrition Network, Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) and UMCOR. We have been a 5-Star Unit for the past several years.
